A day after Pakistan goofed up at United Nations by holding up a wrong picture to try and attack India, India hit back, exposing at the United Nations the “nefarious designs of Pakistan.”
“Pakistan misled the assembly by displaying the picture to spread falsehoods about India. A fake picture was used to push a completely false narrative,” India stated, using the Right to Reply.
The Permanent Representative of Pakistan Maleeha Lodhi on Sunday had held up a picture from Palestine to depict the “human rights violations” in the Kashmir Valley.
The photo Lodhi displayed at the UN to show Indian “atrocities” in Jammu and Kashmir was of 17-year-old Rawya Abu Jom, who was injured when two Israeli airstrikes hit her family’s apartment in Gaza during the 2014 war.
“We are constrained to show a photo that reflects real picture of pain inflicted by nefarious designs of Pakistan on India,” India stated on Monday at the UNGA.
Paulomi Tripathi, the secretary with India’s permanent mission to the UN, held up a picture of Lt Ummer Fayaz, the officer from Jammu and Kashmir who was abducted and killed by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists in May earlier this year.
“This is a real picture, of Lt Ummer Fayaz, a young officer from Jammu and Kashmir. He was brutally tortured and killed by Pakistan-supported terrorists. This is the reality that Permanent Representative of Pakistan sought to obfuscate, stated India.
