Mutton Karhai is a delicious gravy based recipe quite popular in wedding menu in north frontier cuisine. Mutton pieces nicely cooked in a flavorful spicy gravy is a real delight for meat lovers.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Mutton- ½ kg boiled
Ginger garlic- 1 tbsp
Crushed red pepper- 1 tsp
Chili powder- 1 tsp
Tomatoes- 4 sliced
Yogurt- ½ cup
Crushed black pepper- 1 tsp
Crushed coriander- 1 tsp
Cream- 3 tbsp
Ghee- ½ cup
Green chilies- 4
Cumin roasted and crushed- 1 tsp
Ginger sliced- 1 tbsp
Heat ½ cup ghee add sliced tomatoes, ginger garlic paste, cover and leave it to cook for 10 minutes.
Then add boiled mutton with salt, both crushed black and red peppers, chili powder, roasted and crushed cumin and coriander seeds and chili powder. Now mix everything well and fry.
Add 1/2 cup yogurt and now cover and cook the chicken for 10 to 15 minutes, lastly add ginger julienne cut, chopped green chilies and coriander leaves and then add the cream and mix them all well.
And let it cook for 5 more minutes.
