Lockdown extended till June 30, hotels, restaurants, malls to open from June 8

LOCKDOWNNew Delhi: The Union Home Ministry on Saturday announced to increase the nationwide lockdown in the country’s Containment Zone by 30 June. Also said that from June 8, hospitality services, hotels and shopping malls will be allowed to be opened in a phased manner. The Ministry has issued new guidelines on Saturday regarding eradication of corona virus epidemic. The new guideline states that the nationwide lockdown in the Containment Zone will continue till June 30.

The Central Government has given more powers to the States and Union Territories to decide the definition of Containment Zone and declare the location as Containment Zone. There are currently 102 prohibited areas in the capital Delhi.

Taking steps towards opening the country in a phased manner after the lockdown, the Center has said that public religious places, hotels, restaurants, shopping malls and other hospitality services will also start from June 8.

The Union Home Ministry has asked the Union Health Ministry to set up standard operating procedures to open these areas in consultation with other ministries, departments and concerned people and authorities so that the social distance (two yards) rule is followed. Schools and Colleges In the
second phase, a decision will be taken to open educational institutions including schools and colleges in July in consultation with the states and union territories and in the meantime they will discuss the subject with parents and other concerned parties at the institute level. The guidelines said, “Based on the feedback, a decision will be taken to open these institutions in July 2020”. It has also been said that the Health Ministry will prepare the standard operating procedure (SOP) for these institutions.

International air travel, metro rail, cinema hall, gym, swimming pool (Taran Taal) amusement park, cinema house, bar, auditorium, gathering place and some other activities will be closed for the time being. The order states that other major events including social, political, sports, entertainment, culture and religious will also be closed. It says that a decision will be taken in the third phase after assessing the situation.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has said that the prohibited area will be kept completely sealed and only necessary activities will be allowed there. The ministry also said that there would be no restriction on further international movement within the state, people or freight vehicles would not require any special passes for such trips.

It states, “But, if a State or Union Territory proposes to ban the movement of people on the basis of public health or on the basis of assessment of circumstances, then in relation to the prohibition and the guidelines related to it It will make people aware of it by doing extensive publicity already.

The ministry also clarified that the operation of ‘Shramik Special’ trains to take passenger trains and migrant workers to their state, domestic air travel and return of Indians stranded abroad will continue as per SOP.

Relaxation in curfew time has also been relaxed
in curfew time and its time has been changed from 9 o’clock in the morning to five in the morning. During this period, there will be a ban on the exit of people other than those connected with essential services. Earlier this time limit was from seven in the evening to seven in the morning.

The Ministry has advised that persons above 65 years of age, persons with other serious illnesses, pregnant women and children below 10 years stay at home and leave only for essential tasks or health reasons. Work from home has been advocated in the new guidelines.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a nationwide lockdown from March 25 to 21 days in the wake of the Corona virus crisis. Then it was increased to three May, 17 May and then to 31 May. Now (lockdown) has been extended till 30 June in prohibited areas.
