Sahara (Poem) Abdul Punnayurkulam

May 15, 2015 , Abdul Punnayurkulam

SaharaMy mother deserted me at five

Father always was invisible

Spouse traded me for cheap narcotic

Friends are far away like scattering clouds

In my sleepless nights,

my heart is barren like the Sahara:

no oasis, no music, no feeling,

no remorse and no sunrise on the horizon.

But I see all kinds of strange, smiling faces

like glittering stars in the desert sky.
