New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has postponed the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia this year due to Corona virus. The ICC issued a statement on Monday and informed about this. “The ICC today confirms that the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia has been postponed due to covid-19,” the ICC said in its statement.

Given the situation of Covid-19, it was long feared that the T20 World Cup to be held this year could be postponed and the ICC finally stamped on it. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was to be held in Australia from October 18 to November 15 this year.

The ICC has also released the schedule of the next three men’s tournaments.

The ICC said in its statement, “The next three ICC Men’s Tournaments – ICC Men’s T20 World Cup -2021, will be held in October-November 2021 and its final will be on November 14, 2021. ICC Men’s T20 World Cup -2022, October “It will be held in November and its final will be held on 13 November -2022. The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup-2023 will be held in India in October-November-2023 and the final will be on 26 November 2023.”

The statement said, “The IBC (ICC subsidiary) board will continuously monitor the changing conditions and collect all kinds of information so that a decision can be made about the future host of the tournament and ensure that In 2021 and 2022, the Games can be safely and globally conducted successfully. ”

According to the statement, “The IBC board is also monitoring the situation with regard to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup -2021 to be held in New Zealand in February next year. Meanwhile the tournament planning will continue.”

The ICC took a final decision on this after the ICC’s chairman of the Financial and Commercial Affairs Committee Ehsan Money and Cricket Australia (CA) repeatedly said that the T20 World Cup was impossible to be held in Australia this year. Long waited at first.

CA chairman Eddings and Money, who is also the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), had already told the media that the T20 World Cup cannot be held in a bio-secure environment.
