The German hospital, which is treating Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, said he has come out of coma and is now reacting.
Navalny, a critic of the Russian president and exposing corruption cases, fell ill on a flight to Moscow last month and was admitted to a hospital in Siberia’s city of Omsk.
Navalny was sent to Germany for treatment on 22 August. He has since been in a hospital in Berlin. The German authorities claimed that he had been poisoned. Berlin’s Cherite Hospital said Monday that Navalny’s condition had improved further, after which it could be said that he has now come out of a medical coma.
It was also said that he was reacting to the speech but ‘the long-term consequences of severe poisoning still cannot be ruled out’.
