Famous actress and former model Amy Doris has accused US President Donald Trump of sexually assaulting her during the 1997 US Open Tennis Tournament in New York. In an interview to London-based newspaper The Guardian on Thursday, Darris said that she had gone to New York on September 5, 1997 to watch the tour and was only 24 years old at the time.
Doris has provided copies of the tickets and photos of the event to the newspaper in which she stands in front of Trump. At that time Mr. Trump was a prominent businessman. Doris said, “Donald Trump was using his tongue to the bottom of my throat and his grip was tightening on the parts of my body which I strongly opposed and pushed him backwards again and again but he was not going and his hand was going on every part of my body and I was not able to get free from his grip. ”
The newspaper has also stated that Trump has denied such an incident with the actress. She said that at the time during the Presidential election in 2016, many women had openly expressed their objections against Trump’s exploits of the then presidential candidate, at that time she did not make any allegations against Trump because it damaged her family.
Doris currently has two daughters, she says, “Now my daughters are 13 years old and I want to tell them not to allow anyone to do something you don’t like. I now want to be my daughters’ role model and tell them that I was not silent in this matter and I stood up against a person who had done what was not acceptable to me. ” However, Donald Trump’s lawyer has denied the former model’s allegations.
Significantly, at the time of Trump’s election campaign, at least 15 women had made sexual harassment allegations against him and many of these cases were decades old. Trump, however, has termed these allegations baseless and has resolved to take legal action against the women who made such allegations.
