(East Meadow, NY) — In a community-led effort to help protect front line medical workers, State Senator Kevin Thomas (D-Levittown) partnered with the Federation of American Indian Relief (FAIR) and the Muslim Community of New York (MCNY) to donate 500 N95 masks to Nassau University Medical Center.

Senator Thomas and Imran Pasha, Chairman of FAIR, delivered the masks to NUMC President/CEO Dr. Anthony Boutin on Tuesday morning.

“We are proud to donate personal protective equipment for these front line workers, who are putting their lives at risk for us,” said Mr. Pasha, whose organization is dedicated to serving the poor and needy, with special focus on India.

“It’s incredibly inspiring to see our community come together to support one another in times of need,” said Senator Thomas. “I want to thank Federation of American Indian Relief and the Muslim Community of New York for their amazing efforts in securing these masks, and thank all of our health care workers who are out there fighting a difficult battle for us. We are here to support you in every way that we can.”
