The Pillay Foundation (PF) is pleased to announce the names of the students selected for the college scholarship program for 2020. Thirty students are selected this year from 12 Higher Secondary (HS) Schools in Vaikom area. With this selection, the total number of students in the scholarship program in 2020 becomes 97. The total students benefitted or benefitting by the program since 2004 becomes 445. The names of the selected students and the schools they attended are given below.
The PF offers two programs for selected studies:

2. Rs.15,000 per year for selected students pursuing a professional degree course.
The selected students can choose any of the above courses/programs. The scholarship is subject to proof of admission to an accredited institution. The selected students will continue to receive scholarship for the prescribed years to complete the course. Selection of students for the program is based on the detailed evaluation of economic criteria (poverty) and the academic performance.
On PF’s request, 12 HS Schools in Vaikom area participated in the scholarship program. Preliminary selection of 6 students from each school based on PF selection criteria was made by the school. The applications in the PF prescribed form from the selected students attested by the school principals were then sent to PF. Final selection is made based on detailed further evaluation of economic and merit criteria. Field verification of the economic criteria was conducted by PF team visiting candidate’s homes in March 2020.
