At a crowded gathering at the World’s Fair Marina in Flushing New York on Tuesday night June 17, an excited gathering of INOC (I) officers and Congress Supports celebrated the appointment of the new President of INOC (I) USA. The dignitaries that graced the occasion included various prominent Indian Americans hailing from the tri-State area who streamed up to the podium and delivered their felicitations and good wishes on JunedQazi. Many spoke about their pleasant and positive experiences they had had working with JunedQazi and looked forward to a productive and ground breaking leadership role on his part.
In introducing Mr. Juned Qazi, Mr. George Abraham, Chairman of INOC(I) said Mr. Qazi is a dedicated leader with charisma and youthful vigor and who is capable of taking INOC to the next level. He recollected the time he was with Mr. Qazi in India during the recent election cycle to secure a seat to run from Aligarh constituency on a Congress ticket. ” I have personally witnessed his ability to motivate and mobilize the cadre at the grass-root level; if he is to employ the same amount of stamina and focus, INOC could be rebuilt very soon to face up to the challenges on hand” Abraham added.
General Secretary Harbachan Singh who MC’d. the function said that Juned Qazi was a consensus builder and a very talented leader who has earned the trust of the fellow Congressi both in USA and India. As a very amiable and dynamic leader, we are confident that he will fully and very ably discharge his duties as President of INOC(I) and overwhelming support for him was the order of the day. He added, “ A sense of relief was felt all around the reception hall that the stagnant INOC(I) over the last one year was now once again geared up to function full-swing to respond to the aspirations of the people.”
Mr. Mohinder Singh Gilzian, senior Vice-President lauded Mr. Qazi for his commitment to the values and principles of the Congress Party and wished him all the success.
Mr. Juned Qazi thanked everyone for the great show of support and committed himself to work hard for the Indian Americans and motherland India and to foster greater cooperation and friendship ties between the two. He also vouched that he will go the extra mile to help the needy and will not hesitate to stand for what is right.
