{"id":643229,"date":"2023-05-30T02:45:52","date_gmt":"2023-05-30T06:45:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.malayalamdailynews.com\/?p=643229"},"modified":"2023-05-30T02:46:27","modified_gmt":"2023-05-30T06:46:27","slug":"league-of-women-voters-provides-non-partisan-voting-plan-for-june-primary-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.malayalamdailynews.com\/english\/643229\/","title":{"rendered":"League of Women Voters Provides Non-Partisan Voting Plan for June Primary Election"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-643230\" src=\"https:\/\/www.malayalamdailynews.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/48805486743_a120873848_c.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"799\" height=\"533\" \/>Bergen County (New Jersey): The League of Women Voters of Northern Valley (LWVNV) wants citizens to be prepared with nonpartisan information to participate in New Jersey&#8217;s Primary Election on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.\u00a0 To prepare voters in Bergen County for what they need to do for the Primary Election, the League developed a voting plan.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Voters need to educate themselves about the voting process and exercise their right to vote in the Primary Election on Tuesday, June 6.\u00a0 The League of Women Voters of Northern Valley encourages people to review our voting plan and go to VOTE411.org for nonpartisan information on local races, polling locations, and other details,&#8221; said Joyce Luhrs, Vice President of Marketing, League of Women Voters of Northern Valley.<\/p>\n<p>The New Jersey Primary Election allows members of a political party to choose a candidate to represent them in the General Election, which will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.\u00a0 In New Jersey, only voters who are registered members of a political party may participate in nominating that party&#8217;s candidates.\u00a0 Unaffiliated voters can register with a political party up to and including Primary Election Day.\u00a0 They may declare a party affiliation in person at the polls on Primary Election Day, during the early voting period or upon casting their mail-in ballot.\u00a0 Currently, only the Republican and Democratic parties use a primary election system to select nominees.<\/p>\n<p><u>Three Voting Options<\/u><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-643232\" src=\"https:\/\/www.malayalamdailynews.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/49618706547_c6595106d1_c.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"799\" height=\"533\" \/>First, voters may vote in person at local, designated polling sites from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on June 6.\u00a0 Voters may find their polling location online at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lwvnj.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.lwvnj.org&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1685508117636000&amp;usg=AOvVaw38Y6utqV6kJDdJEou-s7uR\">www.lwvnj.org<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vote411.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.vote411.org&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1685508117636000&amp;usg=AOvVaw345HqG3FPPKuPu9cp9sOxJ\">www.vote411.org<\/a>.\u00a0 A polling location will also be shown on the sample ballot, which should be received about a week before Election Day.<\/p>\n<p>Second, New Jersey voters may vote early in-person at a designated early voting polling location.\u00a0 This may be done from Friday, June 2 to Sunday, June 4 prior to the Primary Election Day on Tuesday, June 6.\u00a0 During these days, voters may cast their ballots on Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, June 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.\u00a0 Polling locations for early voting in Bergen County may be found at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lwvnj.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.lwvnj.org&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1685508117636000&amp;usg=AOvVaw38Y6utqV6kJDdJEou-s7uR\">www.lwvnj.org<\/a>\u00a0 or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nj.gov\/state\/elections\/vote-early-voting.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/nj.gov\/state\/elections\/vote-early-voting.shtml&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1685508117636000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0P8uDlrnTTlGsjjqyBIKVd\">https:\/\/nj.gov\/state\/<wbr \/>elections\/vote-early-voting.<wbr \/>shtml<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Third, registered voters may vote using a mail-in ballot for the Primary Election.\u00a0 In New Jersey, any eligible registered vote may Vote by Mail without a reason needed to request a Vote by Mail ballot.\u00a0 Mail-in ballots are available to send to all registered voters by applying through May 30, 2023, the date by which the Bergen County Clerk must receive the application.
