{"id":651861,"date":"2023-08-19T14:11:16","date_gmt":"2023-08-19T18:11:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.malayalamdailynews.com\/?p=651861"},"modified":"2023-08-19T14:11:32","modified_gmt":"2023-08-19T18:11:32","slug":"army-truck-slips-in-ditch-two-gcos-and-seven-soldiers-killed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.malayalamdailynews.com\/english\/651861\/","title":{"rendered":"Army truck slips in ditch, two GCOs and seven soldiers killed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span class=\"\">A major accident took place in Ladakh this evening. <\/span><span class=\"\">Nine soldiers were killed when the vehicle carrying the army personnel fell into a gorge.\u00a0<\/span>At the same time, 1 jawan has been seriously injured.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.malayalamdailynews.com\/english\/651861\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-651862\" src=\"https:\/\/www.malayalamdailynews.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/army-truck.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a>Ladakh: <span class=\"\">There is news of a major accident near Leh in the Union Territory of Ladakh.\u00a0<\/span>A vehicle carrying soldiers of the Indian Army has fallen into a ditch.\u00a0Seven jawans and two GCOs have died in this.\u00a0Many jawans were also injured in this accident which took place around 6 pm on Saturday evening.\u00a0All of them have been taken to the military hospital.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fontTextnew my-4 md:text-lg text-base mx-5 md:mx-0\">\n<p>This accident happened near Kyari area.\u00a0The Indian Army truck was accompanied by an ambulance and USV.\u00a0<span class=\"\">A Leh-based defense official said that the incident took place 7 km from Kyari town.\u00a0<\/span>The Indian Army truck fell into the ditch when it was coming from Karu garrison towards Kyari.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fontTextnew my-4 md:text-lg text-base mx-5 md:mx-0\">\n<p><strong>There were 10 jawans in the truck<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A total of 10 jawans were aboard the military truck that met with the accident.\u00a0This truck fell into the ditch of the river adjacent to the road.\u00a0Seven jawans and two GCOs were killed in this accident. <span class=\"VIpgJd-yAWNEb-VIpgJd-fmcmS-sn54Q\">Rescue work has been done very quickly after the accident and all the injured jawans are currently admitted in the hospital.\u00a0<\/span>Everyone is being treated.\u00a0Many jawans have also suffered serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Defense Minister expressed grief<br \/>\n<\/strong>Defense Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted that &#8220;expressed grief over the death of Indian Army soldiers in an accident near Leh. He said that we will never forget their exemplary service to our nation. My condolences With the bereaved families. Injured personnel have been taken to field hospital.
