\"\"Jammu and Kashmir:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad’s party DPAP candidate GM Saroori filed nomination papers on Tuesday.\u00a0He filled his nomination form at the District Deputy Commissioner’s office in Kathua.\u00a0During this time, DPAP supporters gathered in large numbers.\u00a0Slogans were raised loudly in support of GM Saroori.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ghulam Mohammad (GM) Saroori was a four-time MLA in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.\u00a0GM Saroori is also currently the Vice President of DPAP.\u00a0He remained associated with Congress for a long time.\u00a0Along with Ghulam Nabi, he resigned from Congress in August 2022 and joined DPAP.<\/span><\/p>\n

Saroori has been the MLA from Inderwal constituency of Kishtwar district from 2002 to 2018.\u00a0In 2008, he was appointed as the Minister of State for Tourism, Forest, School Education, Social Welfare and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution.\u00a0He also served as the Minister of Mechanical Engineering and Roads and Buildings from 2009\u20132010.<\/span><\/p>\n

This time the contest on Udhampur seat is going to be very interesting.\u00a0Dr. Jitendra Singh is contesting from BJP for the third time from this parliamentary constituency.\u00a0Earlier, he had won this seat in 2014 and 2019.\u00a0He has filed his nomination on March 21.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chaudhary Lal Singh has entered the election fray from Congress.\u00a0He has recently returned to Congress after ten years.\u00a0He was elected MP from the same seat in 2004 and 2009.\u00a0According to sources, he may file his nomination on Wednesday.\u00a0All the leaders have started the election campaign at a fast pace to get the public to support them.\u00a0A round of election meetings is going on in every village and city.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Voting for Udhampur-Doda-Kathua Lok Sabha seat will be held in the first phase on April 19.\u00a0The notification has been issued on March 20.\u00a0March 27 is the last date for filing nominations for this seat.\u00a0The last date for withdrawal of candidature has been fixed as March 30.<\/span><\/p>\n

Voting for the Jammu Lok Sabha seat will be held in the second phase of elections on April 26.\u00a0The notification will be issued on March 28 and April 4 will be the last date for filing nominations.\u00a0The last date for withdrawal of candidature is 8 April.<\/span><\/p>\n

After this, voting will be held in the third phase on Anantnag-Rajori seat on May 7.\u00a0The notification will be issued on April 12 and April 19 will be the last date for filing nominations.\u00a0The last date for withdrawal of candidature is 22 April.\u00a0Voting for Srinagar Lok Sabha seat will be held in the fourth phase on May 13.\u00a0Voting for Baramulla seat will be held in the fifth phase of elections on May 20.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
