Photo credit: William Rogers<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Eastern Bergen County, New Jersey; August 23, 2024) &#8212; The League of Women Voters of Northern Valley (LWVNV) and the Borough of Tenafly present \u201cCelebrate Women\u2019s Voting Rights\u201d and the life of American suffragist and Tenafly resident Elizabeth Cady Stanton on Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.\u00a0\u00a0The celebration will be held at Tenafly Borough Hall, located at 100 Riveredge Road in Tenafly, New Jersey.\u00a0\u00a0The celebration is hosted by the Borough of Tenafly Mayor and Council and sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Northern Valley.\u00a0\u00a0Partners, to date, participating in the celebration include the National Organization for Women (NOW), the Bergen County Commission on the Status of Women, and the YWCA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event is free and open to the public.\u00a0\u00a0Refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><u>Women Leaders to Speak<\/u><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Honored guests will join the festivities to celebrate the 19<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0amendment to the U.S. Constitution that secured voting rights for women.\u00a0\u00a0The contributions of American women in the political process will be remembered.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The celebration features these guest speakers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Coline Jenkins<\/strong>, great-great granddaughter of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, will discuss Stanton\u2019s life and the Seneca Falls Convention, the first convention for women\u2019s rights held in Seneca Falls, New York during July 1848 that began the women\u2019s suffrage movement.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Tenafly Councilwoman Dr. Julie O\u2019Connor\u00a0<\/strong>will read the Tenafly, New Jersey and Seneca Falls, New York Sister City Declarations.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Former New Jersey State Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>New Jersey State Assemblywoman Shama Haider, 37th Legislative District<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Tomasina Schwarz, President of the League of Women Voters of Northern Valley<\/strong>, will present the League\u2019s objectives, history, membership, and the Get Out the Vote campaign.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_661985\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-661985\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-661985 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.malayalamdailynews.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Elizabeth_Cady_Stanton-copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"470\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-661985\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color: #999999;\">Elizabeth Cady Stanton.
