AAPI President Dr. Amit Chakrabarty described the summit as a defining moment for Indo\u2011U.S. medical collaboration. \u201cGHS 2026 reflects AAPI\u2019s unwavering commitment to elevating global health standards,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen experts from two of the world\u2019s most dynamic healthcare systems come together, the impact extends far beyond conference halls\u2014it reaches communities, hospitals, and future generations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Empowering Youth Through Mass CPR Training<\/p>\n

The day opened with an ambitious AAPI Mass CPR Training Event for\u00a0 college students, coordinated by Dr. Dillip Panda, Director of KIMS, and Dr. Sathya Swaroop Patnaik of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organizations, Odisha, under the guidance of Dr. Vemuri S. Murthy, a globally recognized Indo\u2011US resuscitation expert and Coordinator of the GHS CME programs. The session trained about 1000 college students following the latest Resuscitation Guidelines, emphasizing high\u2011quality CPR, early defibrillation, and post\u2013cardiac arrest care.<\/p>\n

Dr. Murthy underscored the importance of early training, stating, \u201cThe future of global medical practice lies in the hands of the younger generation\u2014medical students and residents\u2014who have a unique opportunity to integrate cutting\u2011edge technologies such as simulation and AI with traditional clinical evaluation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Expert Insights on Sudden Cardiac Arrest and National Emergency Preparedness<\/p>\n

The three-hour workshop later during the day featured a series of high\u2011impact expert presentations. Dr. Joginder Solanki, representing the American Heart Association, outlined the updated the 2025 resuscitation guidelines. Dr. Srinivas Ramaka,a distinguished Cardiac Arrest Research expert in India, delivered a data\u2011rich session on the epidemiology of out\u2011of\u2011hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) in India. He highlighted the urgent need for public CPR training, improved AED access, and structured emergency response systems.<\/p>\n

\"\"Dr. Debasish Swain, a distinguished faculty of the National Emergency Life Support (NELS) Program in Odisha presented the Government of India\u2019s ambitious National Emergency Life Support (NELS) Program, a mandatory five\u2011day emergency care training initiative for all medical graduates. The program integrates BLS, ACLS, and ATLS, with a strong emphasis on hands\u2011on learning.<\/p>\n

The simulation and AI-based Clinical Case discussion workshop featured a distinguished panel of Indo\u2011US faculty, bringing together some of the most respected leaders in resuscitation science, emergency medicine, cardiology and critical care.<\/p>\n

The expert team, led by\u00a0 Dr. Vemuri Murthy and Dr. Atasu Nayak, Co-Chair of the Workshop included Dr. Anjali Gulati, Dr. Srinivas Ramaka, Dr. Ashok Kumar Badamali, Dr. Suresh Karne, Dr. Lt. Col. Y. Ashok, Dr. Abanibhusan Jena, Dr. Basanta Mohapatra, Dr. Arun Panigrahi and Dr. Abhishek Kashyap.<\/p>\n

Their combined expertise, spanning cardiology, anesthesiology, critical care, emergency life support, and advanced simulation training, added exceptional depth and credibility to the program, reinforcing the workshop\u2019s status as one of the most comprehensive and high\u2011impact sessions of the summit.<\/p>\n

A major highlight of the workshop was the hands\u2011on simulation training featuring the SimMan 3G Plus, an advanced high\u2011fidelity simulation platform provided by Laerdal India. Participants practiced real\u2011time decision\u2011making in complex emergency scenarios, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical readiness.<\/p>\n
