The organizational ceremony revitalized the National Democratic Alliance’s campaign for the assembly elections. The main ceremony took place at the new Mararji Bhavan, the party’s state headquarters, which Shah inaugurated in July 2025.

Amid heavy police security, the Union Home Minister hoisted the party flag. The event was attended by BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje, and senior state leaders, including the party president, who attended after wrapping up his election campaign in the morning.

Workers celebrated the occasion with great pride and recalled the party’s journey from its inception in 1980 to becoming the world’s largest political organization. Expressing full confidence in the upcoming assembly elections, Shah presented the BJP’s blueprint for the state. He highlighted the party’s steady progress in Kerala since 2009, including an increase in vote share and several victories, including its first assembly member, a member of Parliament, and the current mayoral post in Thiruvananthapuram.

Addressing the public, Shah declared that the NDA government would be formed in Kerala this time. He challenged local media reports and promised that Thiruvananthapuram would be developed into an artificial intelligence hub under NDA rule. He also promised to establish similar regional hubs in other districts, focusing on health, education, security, information technology, culture, and shipbuilding.

Stepping up the campaign, the Home Minister later arrived in the Kattakada constituency, a strategic area where the NDA has high hopes. Beginning his speech with the blessings of local deities Kattakada Mudippura Devi and Moliyur Mahadevar Shah, he called the NDA candidates to the stage and appealed to the public for their support.

Candidates including P K Krishnadas from Kattakada, Vivek Gopan from Aruvikkara, Chenkal Rajasekharan Nair from Neyyattinkara and Girish Neyyar from Parassala welcomed Shah by placing a huge garland of lotus around his neck.

On this occasion, Mukkampalamoodu Biju presented him with a ceremonial scepter and crown, while P.K. Krishnadas presented him with a statue of Lord Ayyappa. At his rally, Shah strongly criticized both the Left Democratic Front and the United Democratic Front, specifically accusing Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of lacking real development.

He ridiculed the Left government’s development initiatives, calling them mere name-changing startups that rebrand centrally sponsored programmes instead of bringing about real progress.

Accusing the Left of failing to ensure women’s safety over the past ten years, she vowed that the NDA government would take strict action against corruption. She asserted that those involved in gold smuggling and related cases would be jailed within two months of the NDA coming to power.

Shah also assured that the new government will prioritise women’s safety and take major welfare measures for women, including monthly monetary assistance, free LPG cylinders and good drinking water.

The choice of Kattakada as a key campaign location is highly strategic, as the BJP secured first place in this assembly constituency during the Lok Sabha elections following Prime Minister Modi’s visit. With just days left for the elections, the active presence of national leaders and increased focus on grassroots development issues represents a last-ditch effort by the NDA to reach out to voters in Kerala. There are indications that more Union ministers will campaign in the state in the coming days.

Thiruvananthapuram: The BJP celebrated its 47th foundation day with a grand event in the state capital, attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
