The party has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government is consistently avoiding taking responsibility for its administrative failures. The Congress says that top ministers are engaging in politics of distraction by giving vague answers to legitimate questions from the opposition.

Congress communications chief Jairam Ramesh questioned the government’s intentions on the social media platform “X.” He said that Union Minister J.P. Nadda should acknowledge the failures of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the Prime Minister instead of making baseless accusations against the opposition. According to Ramesh, the government is busy defending a completely failed examination system, putting the futures of millions of students at risk.

The Congress leader also questioned the intent behind the creation of the National Testing Agency (NTA). He said that this agency, created with the aim of centralizing examinations, has now become a hotbed of paper leaks and irregularities. He recalled that the K. Radhakrishnan Committee was formed under the guise of reforms following the 2024 controversies. This committee made 101 important suggestions for reform, but the government shelved them. The continued operation of the agency’s top post on an additional charge for so long demonstrates the government’s utter negligence toward this issue.

Expressing deep dissatisfaction with the recent exam results, Jairam Ramesh stated that the NEET-UG paper leak and cancellation of the exam are no ordinary lapses. Furthermore, widespread irregularities have been exposed in major exams like the UGC-NET. He alleged that when aggrieved students and youth took to the streets to press their demands, instead of listening to their legitimate anger, the government used police force against them. This entire situation is a direct result of the poor functioning of the Ministry of Education and the wrong policies of the central government.

New Delhi: The Congress party has launched a scathing attack on the central government over the ongoing exam scams and paper leaks in the country.
