\"\"<\/a>New Delhi |<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0During the ongoing debate on the “Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026” in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of Parliament, on Tuesday, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi launched a scathing and aggressive attack on the central government. During her address, she questioned who ordered the lathicharge on students and youth, and not just the Congress party, but the entire country, including teachers, students, and parents, is asking this very question today. She stated bluntly that Parliament is not anyone’s fiefdom.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking in Parliament, Priyanka Gandhi recalled meeting an injured student. She explained that when she visited the victim, her mother told her that many prominent leaders had been visiting since morning, and that they were the ones who had caused her daughter’s plight. Asking sharp questions of the government, she asked what was the need to fire pellet guns at the country’s youth and inflict such atrocities on innocent children?<\/span><\/p>\n

She criticized the police action against protesting students, saying they were being treated as if they were terrorists. Priyanka Gandhi strongly objected to the lathicharge and tear gas shelling and demanded a clear answer from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.<\/span><\/p>\n

Continuing his attack on the government, he said that the country’s youth have exercised their democratic rights in a completely peaceful manner, and therefore deserve justice, transparency, and full respect. He reminded that elected representatives are true servants of the people, not rulers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Raising the issue of paper leaks, he said that this government has consistently weakened all major employment-generating sectors. Repeated paper leaks have affected the futures of millions of students, yet ironically, not a single key culprit has been punished to date. He also made serious allegations of ideological appointments in educational institutions and the centralization of the examination system.<\/span><\/p>\n

During her address, when Priyanka Gandhi mentioned an old incident involving the new Education Minister, ruling party members protested and created a huge uproar. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju objected, saying such comments amount to character assassination and should not lower the level of debate in Parliament. Congress MP KC Venugopal and other opposition leaders reacted sharply to this, leading to a heated atmosphere in the House. The Lok Sabha Speaker intervened and urged all members to focus the discussion only on the bill under consideration.<\/span><\/p>\n

Taking the government to task at the end of her address, Priyanka Gandhi said that while police batons may have been used on the backs of children, the real impact has been on the government’s credibility. She said that the future and dreams of the country’s youth have been stolen, and that if the country’s youth become disillusioned, it will be a defeat for the entire nation. Addressing the Prime Minister, she said that simply making videos from new angles will not suffice to win the trust of Gen Z.
