Senior Congress leader and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel described the verdict as only a \u201chalf-judgement,\u201d arguing that several crucial questions surrounding the attack remain unanswered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Reacting to the verdict on social media, Baghel said those who received the death sentences were merely \u201cpawns\u201d in the attack. He alleged that the individuals who planned and masterminded what he described as a political massacre have still not been brought to justice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Baghel also raised questions about the NIA investigation. He alleged that the names and addresses of senior Naxalite leaders had been removed from the case and that appropriate charges had not been filed against them. He further claimed that neither the NIA nor the commissions that examined the incident adequately investigated allegations of a wider political conspiracy or serious security lapses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The former Chief Minister also accused BJP leaders of obstructing efforts to investigate the incident. These allegations remain Baghel\u2019s claims and are separate from the court\u2019s findings in the case.<\/p>\n<p>Baghel said the verdict would not alter either his position or that of his party.
