Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and NCP-SP MP Supriya Sule were among those leading the march. As police blocked their path, some MPs climbed over the barricades. Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and the Congress president joined other opposition leaders in the sit-in. There was no confirmed information at the time about any leaders being detained.<\/p>\n

During the protest, Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav sharply criticised the Election Commission, alleging that it had failed to act impartially in the 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2024 elections. He also questioned its conduct in West Bengal and referred to the controversy surrounding the Chandigarh election.<\/p>\n

A large contingent of Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel was deployed amid concerns over crowd control and security. More than 3,000 police personnel, including 27 companies of male personnel and four companies of female personnel, were deployed to maintain law and order. Delhi Police also issued a traffic advisory because of the demonstration.<\/p>\n

Rahul Gandhi attempted to reach the Election Commission\u2019s headquarters through the All India Radio building but was stopped by security personnel at the gate. Following this, he, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, K. C. Venugopal and other senior opposition leaders staged a sit-in approximately 200 metres from the commission\u2019s office.
