\"\"<\/a>New Delhi:<\/strong> Saurabh Bhardwaj, president of the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Delhi unit, has filed a formal complaint with the Lieutenant Governor and the Delhi Police Commissioner over a controversial incident during a Ramlila event held in Pitampura. He alleged that burning a cockroach effigy alongside traditional effigies had hurt people’s religious sentiments.<\/p>\n

In his complaint, Saurabh Bhardwaj demanded the immediate registration of an FIR against the organizers of the Shri Keshav Ramlila Committee, Delhi government minister and committee member Kapil Mishra, who attended the event as the chief guest, and others associated with the event.<\/p>\n

He warned that if an FIR was not registered soon, he would approach the court. He also demanded the removal of all photographs, videos, and promotional materials related to the event from media and social media platforms.<\/p>\n

The incident took place in northwest Delhi, where a 30-foot-tall cockroach effigy was burnt alongside the traditional effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghnad during Dussehra celebrations on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The unusual effigy burning attracted widespread attention, particularly in the wake of recent protests by the Cockroach Janata Party against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.<\/p>\n

However, the event organizers clarified that the primary purpose of burning the cockroach effigy was to raise public awareness about unhygienic conditions and the health problems associated with them.<\/p>\n

Following the controversy, BJP leader and Delhi government minister Kapil Mishra, who attended the event as the chief guest, launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party.<\/p>\n
