\"\"Varanasi:<\/strong> During his visit to his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a major industrial project aimed at boosting employment and economic growth in the region. He formally inaugurated a modern manufacturing unit of Arvind Limited, a leading Gujarat-based textile manufacturer, in Khochwan, Mirzamurad. Established on a sprawling seven-to-eight-acre site with an investment of approximately \u20b9150 crore, the new plant is expected to give fresh momentum to the industrial development of Purvanchal.<\/p>\n

The establishment of this large-scale industrial facility is expected to create employment opportunities not only for local residents but also for thousands of young people across Purvanchal. The company is placing special emphasis on employing local women and has already completed the recruitment process for more than 300 women. These employees are currently undergoing intensive training in operating modern machinery and learning advanced textile manufacturing techniques. The initiative is expected to significantly strengthen the region’s textile and apparel manufacturing ecosystem.<\/p>\n

This is Arvind Limited’s first large-scale manufacturing facility in Purvanchal, where a wide range of sportswear, undergarments, and other modern textile products will be manufactured. The plant is expected to produce garments that meet international quality standards for globally recognized brands such as Jockey, U.S. Polo, and Arrow. Established in 1931 and headquartered in Ahmedabad, Arvind Limited has a global presence in the production of yarn, denim, cotton, linen, and specialty fabrics for industrial applications.<\/p>\n

Following the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held detailed discussions with senior company officials about Khadi fabrics and garment manufacturing processes. He also interacted with women employees working under the “Apna Hunar, Apni Pehchan” initiative to learn about their experiences, skills, and challenges. The Prime Minister also toured a textile exhibition showcasing various products and manufacturing techniques.<\/p>\n

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were among the distinguished guests present at the inauguration ceremony.
