Actor and Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) party chief Thalapathy Vijay on Wednesday mocked the Bharatiya Janata Party and Tamil Nadu’s ruling party DMK. Vijay has targeted both the parties for starting a hashtag controversy on social media platform X. Vijay has said that BJP and DMK are trivializing a serious issue like the language dispute.
TVK’s first anniversary was celebrated in Mamallapuram near Chennai on Wednesday. During this, Vijay said that the three-language policy BJP replied to DMK’s ‘Get Out Modi’ with ‘Get Out Stalin’. Just like LKG and UKG children fight. Vijay said – “It is the duty of the Center to give funds and it is the right of the state to receive funds. But both our political and ideological enemies are playing with hashtags on social media. What is happening here? Both are pretending to fight and expecting us to believe it?”
Actor Vijay said at the event that his party respects all languages. However, it will not give up its self-respect for any other language. Addressing the people who came to the rally, Vijay said – “Anyone can learn any language, but violating cooperative federalism and state autonomy and questioning the language of the state by imposing and politically imposing another language is unacceptable.”
On the other hand, Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai has targeted Thalapathy Vijay for joining the DMK against the three-language policy. Annamalai said in Coimbatore – “No one is imposing language. You (Vijay) follow what you say, do not lie.”
