There are chances of political conflict between Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde increasing in Maharashtra. Devendra Fadnavis has postponed the work of Rs 3,200 crore of the Health Department during the Shinde government. Tanaji Sawant has been accused of giving mechanical cleaning contract to a company without any work experience. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has started action against the alleged irregularities during the Shinde government. Many decisions of the Shinde government were postponed, while some were also cancelled. Tanaji Sawant was the Health Minister during the Shinde government. During his tenure, scams worth thousands of crores of rupees are coming to light, including transfer of officers and purchase of ambulances.
It was agreed to outsource the cleaning work of all government hospitals, primary health centers and sub-centers under the health department. For this, on 30 August 2024, a contract of Rs 638 crore annually and a total of Rs 3,190 crore for 3 years was given to a private company in Pune.
CM Fadnavis has also taken a tough stand in the matter of OSD and personal secretary of ministers. 125 names were sent for the appointment of OSD and secretary of ministers, out of which CM has approved 109 names while 16 names have been withheld. He had clearly said that he will not give this responsibility to any middleman. Among these names, there are some names whose suggestion was also sent by Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena. This decision was also praised by Uddhav Thackeray faction. Shiv Sena UBT had said that Fadnavis is taking strong steps to bring discipline in the governance of the state. CM Fadnavis has started cleaning the drain of corruption.
