New Delhi: Tensions between India and Pakistan are increasing. Pakistan attacked India with a drone, but the Indian air defense system foiled its plans. Meanwhile, PDP chief and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti has appealed to the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan to find a peaceful solution. She has called for political intervention, not military intervention.
Mehbooba said, ‘The tension between India and Pakistan is constantly increasing, unfortunately it is taking the lives of innocent people on both sides of the border. In these difficult times, I firmly believe that restraint is a must. The leaders and military commanders of both countries must come together to de-escalate the situation and prioritise the safety and well-being of innocent civilians who are suffering the consequences of this conflict. It is important to find a peaceful solution and prevent further loss of life and property.’
Women and children are becoming homeless- Mehbooba
He said, ‘As you all are aware of the situation between India and Pakistan. People, women and children on the border are becoming homeless and are scared. Civilians are being killed on both sides, who never supported this action. Whether it is Pulwama or Pahalgam, both have brought us to the brink of danger. There will be no solution to this.’
The PDP chief said, ‘I appeal to both the leadership to stop the attacks, because our children are being killed.’ While saying this, Mehbooba Mufti became emotional and tears welled up in her eyes. She said, ‘Both the countries are claiming equal losses to some extent, then why are they killing our children. I appeal to Prime Minister Modi who said during the Ukraine war that the war stopped when he intervened.’
Mehbooba Mufti attacked the media
Apart from this, she attacked the media and said, ‘I request the media of both sides. They have crossed all limits. Some people broadcast that Islamabad is ruined. Its job should be to heal the people, however they are not doing so, they are scaring the people. The claims of both the countries are contradictory to each other, but the real stories are of the hospitals of both the countries. Live and let live, they (Pakistan) should live in peace and let others live in peace too. Army is not the solution to the real problem.
