Major administrative reshuffle in Delhi Police: After IAS, 38 IPS officers were transferred

New Delhi:  A major administrative reshuffle was done in Delhi Police on Tuesday. In which 24 IPS (Indian Police Service) officers and 14 DANIPS (Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police Service) officers were transferred and new appointments were made. This reshuffle was done under the order issued by the office of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. In which senior officers have been given the responsibility of different ranges and units.

This step is being considered towards further strengthening the law and order of the capital and increasing administrative efficiency. The objective of this extensive reshuffle is to further improve the law and order situation in the capital and strengthen the administrative capacity in various units. Sources say that through new postings, efficiency, accountability and quick decision making process will be given priority in Delhi Police. Earlier on May 16, 66 IAS-IPS officers were transferred in Delhi.

In the transfer list issued from the office of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, senior IPS officer of 1995 batch David Lalringsanga has been appointed Special Commissioner of Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) and Special Police Unit for North-Eastern Region (SPUNER). While Dheeraj Kumar of 2004 batch will now serve as Director (Joint CP) in Delhi Police Academy. Raj Kumar Singh has been given the responsibility of Joint CP (Provisioning and Logistics).

Apart from this, Vijay Kumar of 2007 batch has been transferred from Delhi Police Housing Corporation Limited (DPHCL) and made Joint Commissioner of Police of Eastern Range. While 2009 batch IPS officer Umesh Kumar has been transferred as Additional CP (Security), and 2011 batch IPS officer Pratiksha Godara has been transferred from Special Cell to DPHCL as Additional CP.

Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has also made major changes at the DCP level in many districts. In this, 2012 batch IPS officer Nidhin Valsan has now been made the DCP of Central district. While Rajiv Ranjan has been given the responsibility of Rohini district. At the same time, 2013 batch IPS officer V Hareshwar Swami will now be the DCP of Outer North district. 2014 batch IPS Amit Goyal has been made the DCP of South West and 2014 batch IPS Hemant Tiwari has been made the DCP of South East district.

Apart from this, Ravi Kumar Singh has been appointed as Economic Offenses Wing (EOW), Sharad Bhaskar Darade as Traffic, Sanjeev Kumar Yadav as Crime and Kushal Pal Singh as Metro DCP. Mahesh Kumar Barnwal has been appointed as DCP of 5th Battalion and Vishnu Kumar as DCP of 6th Battalion DAP.

Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has also transferred DANIPS officers in the transfer list released on Wednesday. In this, Vineet Kumar has been made DCP IFSO Unit, Chepyala Anjita has been made DCP SPUWAC, Lakshmi Kanwat has been made DCP Security, Subodh Kumar Goswami has been made DCP Traffic. Deepak Yadav will be DCP P&L and Nishant Gupta will be DCP Traffic. Patel Aalap Mansukh has been appointed DCP of Special Cell. While Manasvi Jain has been made DCP in Security (CDC).

According to the new transfer list, six IPS officers have been appointed as additional DCPs in Delhi. These include Anant Mittal (North), Rohit Rajbir Singh (Dwarka), Sandeep Gupta (Rohini), Sumit Kumar Jha (South), Narra Chaitanya (Outer), and Abhimanyu Poswal (South West). Achint Garg has been sent as Deputy GM DPHCL. Among DANIPS officers, Sukant Shailaja Ballabh (West), Saurabh Chandra (Dwarka), Hukma Ram Sai (New Delhi), Gaurav Gupta (North-East), and Suma Madda (North) have been appointed as additional DCPs. Earlier, IAS officers were transferred in Delhi.
