Breach in Akhilesh Yadav’s security in Azamgarh; A young man reached near the stage

Azamgarh: A serious lapse was seen in the security arrangements of Samajwadi Party national president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav in Azamgarh on Thursday. During the programme, a youth broke the security cordon and reached very close to the stage, causing panic at the venue.

Although, due to the promptness of the policemen, the youth was immediately taken into custody, but this incident has raised questions on the preparedness of the administration. It took about 5 minutes of effort to remove the youth. Till the time of writing the news, no official statement had come from the police or the local administration.

This incident happened when Akhilesh Yadav came to Azamgarh to attend the Bhoomi Pujan program of the party office and his residence. Many other senior leaders were also present on the stage.

After the incident, SP leaders accused the administration of hatching a conspiracy. They say that all this is a deliberate attempt to “spoil a good program”. The youth’s reaching near the stage is being considered a serious lapse in security.

Meanwhile, members of Brahmin Mahasabha and Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh protested against Akhilesh Yadav’s program and demonstrated by waving black flags on their houses. At the same time, BJP district vice-president Harivansh Mishra also targeted Akhilesh Yadav and said that “He calls Etawah his home and Azamgarh his heart, but all this is just a pretense.”

It is noteworthy that Azamgarh is considered a stronghold of the Samajwadi Party. All 10 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats in the district are occupied by the SP.
