MP Mahua Moitra in trouble again, now she will be held in CM Mamata’s court

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra is not leaving controversy. Moitra is once again seen embroiled in controversies. The All India Matua Mahasangh has expressed displeasure over one of her alleged controversial remarks. The Mahasangh has written a letter to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee demanding intervention and action in the matter. In such a situation, it is believed that CM Mamata Banerjee can take her class.

In fact, while addressing a gathering in Nadia district on August 31, Mahua Moitra had said that ‘Why the game of being Trinamool throughout the year and Sanatani at the time of elections? At every SC booth, where a general caste woman gets Rs 1000, an SC woman gets Rs 1200. Still, BJP gets 85 out of 100 votes at SC, Namasudra, Matua booths. Mamata at the time of work, Mamata at the time of road, and when it comes to taking benefits, everyone comes wearing a garland. The truth is always bitter.

According to the report, in this letter sent by the Mahasangh on September 3, General Secretary Sukesh Chandra Chaudhary has written that the Matua community is hurt and angry by the remarks of Mahua Moitra. He appealed to the Chief Minister to ‘take steps like a guardian and reduce the pain of the community. Although the letter’s letterhead bears the name of Mahasangh President and Trinamool Rajya Sabha MP Mamta Bala Thakur, it is signed by General Secretary Chaudhary.

Mamta Bala Thakur said on this issue, ‘This is her (Mahua’s) personal opinion. This is a religious issue, why should I speak in this as an MP? The organization has taken a decision. Whatever was said is insulting, and I do not want to waste more words on this.’ When she was asked if she would talk to Mahua Moitra on this subject, she retorted, ‘Why should I?’ BJP has also taken a tough stand on this comment of Moitra. Party leader Dipankar Sarkar filed a complaint against her and said, she has insulted SC / ST women and Matua community. Not only did she comment on faith, but also insulted women. Now he will have to appear in court and give clarification.

Meanwhile, for Union Minister and Matua leader Shantanu Thakur, who is considered a political rival of Mamata Bala Thakur, this controversy can become an opportunity to get relief from his domestic differences. Shantanu is in conflict with his elder brother and MLA Subrata Thakur and mother Chhabi Rani Thakur on the issue of religious certificates.
