New Delhi: Before the voting of Bihar assembly elections, JDU candidate from Mokama and Bahubali former MLA Anant Singh has been caught in a murder case. Anant Singh has been made a named accused in the murder case of Dularchand Yadav while campaigning in support of Jan Suraj Party candidate Piyush Priyadarshi from Mokama. After this murder which took place in the Tal area of Mokama on Thursday, the assembly elections in Mokama turned into a bloody feud. There is an atmosphere of tension in the Tal area, police is camping in the villages.
Late Thursday night, based on the statement of the deceased Dularchand Yadav’s grandson, the police registered a murder FIR against five people, including Anant Singh and his two nephews, Ranveer and Karmaveer. The deceased’s family alleges that Anant Singh’s men first shot and then ran over Dularchand with a vehicle, killing him. However, no arrests have been made in the case yet.
Patna SSP Kartikeya K. Sharma said that a fight broke out between two groups near Tartar village in Mokama. When police arrived at the scene, they found two to three vehicles parked there, with broken windows. The body of Dular Chand Yadav was found in one of the vehicles. Dular Chand is a former criminal in the area, with several cases registered against him under murder and the Arms Act.
However, JDU candidate Anant Singh has denied the murder allegations. He said that while he was returning from election campaigning, he overtook the crowd. Jan Suraj Party supporters surrounded the vehicles in his convoy that were left behind and attacked them with bricks and stones. Anant Singh has called this a conspiracy by RJD leader Suraj Bhan Singh. Meanwhile, Suraj Bhan refused to comment on Anant Singh’s allegations. Anant Singh also said that Dular Chand Yadav had initiated the fight.
How did the riot happen in Mokama?
Dularchand Yadav had considerable influence in the Barh and Tal areas of Mokama. Prashant Kishore’s Jan Suraj Party candidate Piyush Priyadarshi was campaigning with his supporters near Khushal Chak on Thursday afternoon at around 3:30 pm. Dularchand Yadav was also with him. Anant Singh was passing through the same route with his supporters. It is reported that abuses broke out between supporters of both parties. As the situation escalated, they started throwing bricks and stones. Later, shots were fired, and Dularchand Yadav died.
