Amid civic polls in Maharashtra, accusations and counter-accusations have begun within the Mahayuti alliance

Mumbai:  Amidst the civic elections in Maharashtra, accusations and counter-accusations have erupted within the Mahayuti alliance. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday took a dig at the BJP, saying that he is now in government with the same people who once leveled serious allegations against him.

This statement by Ajit Pawar comes after allegations by BJP leader Murlidhar Mohol. Murlidhar had questioned why the NCP was giving tickets to candidates with criminal cases against him in the Pune Municipal Corporation elections. Responding to this, Ajit Pawar, without naming the BJP, said that those who once leveled allegations against him, such as the 70,000 crore irrigation scam, are now in power with him. Mere accusations do not make a person guilty unless proven guilty in court. Meanwhile, BJP state president Ravindra Chavan has now said that if he speaks out, Ajit Pawar could get into trouble. He should introspect before making accusations.

BJP state president Ravindra Chavan said that which party is Ajit Pawar talking about. Is he doubting the BJP led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Prime Minister Narendra Modi? The BJP state president said that the politics of allegations and counter-allegations will not benefit anyone. If the BJP also starts responding in the same manner, then it can create big problems for Ajit Pawar. This political conflict has come to the fore at a time when the Pune Municipal Corporation elections are on January 15. The special thing is that despite being allies in the state government, BJP and NCP are contesting the municipal elections separately. At the same time, Ajit Pawar’s party is in the fray with the Sharad Pawar faction.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has said that the Ajit Pawar-led NCP should merge with the Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP). Sanjay Raut questioned why Ajit Pawar remains in the Mahayuti government when he himself is accusing the BJP of corruption.
