New Delhi: On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, tremendous enthusiasm and political activity was witnessed at the Delhi State BJP office on Wednesday. The occasion was the “Makar Sankranti Milan Samaroh,” in which the Delhi unit of the BJP gave a grand welcome to the newly appointed National Executive President of the BJP, Nitin Navin. Amid the beats of drums and chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Jai Shri Ram,” the workers welcomed their new Executive President. The highlight of this event was the presence of the newly appointed National Executive President of the BJP, Nitin Navin.
Hosting the event, Delhi BJP State President Virendra Sachdeva welcomed Nitin Navin in a traditional manner. He presented Navin with a garland of lotus seeds and presented him with khichdi and sesame seeds as a symbol of Makar Sankranti. Addressing the workers, Sachdeva said, “Today is a day of double happiness. On one hand, the Sun God is moving northward, and on the other hand, we have a hardworking and young leader like Nitin Navin ji. Every Delhi BJP worker today takes a pledge that under his guidance, we will dedicate ourselves to serving Delhi.”
State President Virendra Sachdeva, while congratulating all Delhi residents on the occasion, said, “This festival of Makar Sankranti symbolizes harmony and brotherhood in society. We are confident that just as sunlight dispels darkness, with the blessings of the people of Delhi, a new dawn of prosperity will come to the state.”
Overwhelmed by the welcome, Nitin Navin praised the Delhi BJP team. National Executive President Nitin Navin said, “Makar Sankranti is a festival of change. The enthusiasm of Delhi BJP workers today shows that they are fully prepared for Delhi’s development and the strengthening of the organization. The BJP is not just a political party, but a family, and the Khichdi festival teaches us this unity.” Referring to upcoming organizational work and elections, he called on workers to take the central government’s public welfare schemes to every household in Delhi.
A “khichdi feast” was organized during the ceremony, where everyone from senior party leaders to booth-level workers ate together. Thousands of party workers, including Delhi MPs, the Assembly Speaker, former mayors, MLAs, municipal councilors, and others were present on the stage. Kuljeet Chahal, Virendra Sachdeva, National General Secretary Arun Singh, BJP MP Yogendra Chandolia, Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta, Sanjay Mayukh, Purvanchal Morcha Delhi President Sanjay Ojha, Kamaljeet Sehrawat, and General Secretary Vishnu Mittal were present.
It’s worth noting that during the event, the entire office premises was decorated with saffron flags and flowers. Following the tradition of Makar Sankranti, prasad of sesame seeds, jaggery, and khichdi was also distributed among the workers. This event coincided with Nitin Navin’s imminent inauguration as the party’s full-time national president.
