New Delhi. The BJP and its allies have secured a decisive victory in the Maharashtra civic elections. After the strong performance in the BMC elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party has responded to Raj Thackeray’s jibe at Annamalai. BJP MP from Bengaluru Central, Karnataka, PC Mohan, posted on Instagram after the decisive BMC results and wrote, “Ordered some Rasmalai.”
Buoyed by the BMC victory, young BJP MP Tejasvi Surya also took a dig at Raj Thackeray, describing the victory as sweet as rasmalai. Congratulating Maharashtra CM Fadnavis and party workers, he wrote, “The triple engine government under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership will work vigorously to redevelop Mumbai and improve the ease of living for all Mumbaikars.”
It’s worth noting that these reactions from BJP leaders are in response to Raj Thackeray’s jibe at former Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai, referring to him as “Rasmalai.” During a rally, Annamalai had described Mumbai as a city not just of Maharashtra but of the world. This sparked considerable uproar from the opposition. Raj Thackeray went a step further and launched personal attacks on Annamalai.
