Rahul Gandhi receives historic document of grandfather Feroze Gandhi, sends it to mother Sonia

Raebareli: Tuesday was a very special day for Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, who was on a two-day visit to Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh. He was presented with the decades-old driving license of his grandfather and former MP Feroze Gandhi, which had been lying undisclosed for years. During the Raebareli Premier League cricket tournament, organizing committee member Vikas Singh handed over this historic document to Rahul Gandhi.

Vikas Singh said his father-in-law had received the license many years ago at an event. After his death, his mother-in-law kept it safe as a treasure.

Vikas Singh said, “We felt that this is the heritage of the Gandhi family and it is our duty to hand it over to Rahul ji during his visit to Rae Bareli.”

As soon as the license was handed to Rahul Gandhi on stage, he examined it carefully. He seemed impressed by this nostalgic document. He immediately took a photo of the license with his mobile phone and sent it to his mother, Sonia Gandhi, via WhatsApp.

Feroze Gandhi was born in December 1912. He represented the Rae Bareli seat in India’s first general election in 1952. He died on September 7, 1960. It should be noted that Rae Bareli is not only Rahul Gandhi’s current constituency, but also the constituency of his grandfather, Feroze Gandhi, and mother, Sonia Gandhi.
