After meeting Yogi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat met both deputy CMs, raising political temperature

Lucknow: After meeting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat met both the deputy CMs of the state, Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brijesh Pathak. This is being described as a courtesy visit. However, amid discussions about cabinet expansion and organisational reshuffle in the state, the meeting of the Sangh chief with the CM and Deputy CM has increased the political excitement. The Sangh chief met both the deputy CMs for about 10 minutes each on Thursday morning.

Earlier, the Chief Minister met with the RSS chief at 8 pm on Wednesday at the Saraswati Shishu Mandir located in the RSS office complex in Nirala Nagar in the capital. The two spoke privately for about 35 minutes.

The RSS chief was in the capital Lucknow on a two-day visit, and Wednesday was the last day of his stay. The CM’s meeting with Bhagwat took place in a very private, closed-door meeting. Given the current political changes in the state, this meeting is considered very important. While the meeting between the two is being described as a courtesy call, speculation is rife regarding Yogi’s frequent meetings with the RSS chief.

The focus of the RSS chief on Uttar Pradesh, and his frequent visits to Uttar Pradesh for various events, clearly indicates the RSS’s role in shaping the 2027 assembly elections. Whenever he visits Uttar Pradesh, he frequently meets with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Uttar Pradesh is due to hold assembly elections next year. In this context, the meeting between the government and the RSS chief is significant.
