Thiruvananthapuram: Pushing forward its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives to more domains, UST, a leading AI and digital transformation solutions company, has handed over beds, mattresses, water dispensers, and tables to Santhi Mandiram, located at Vattappara in Thiruvananthapuram city.
Santhi Mandiram, a care home recognized by the Government of Kerala, Kerala Police, and the Social Justice Department of Kerala, has been rehabilitating and providing shelter to the homeless elderly and mentally challenged people in need of assistance.
As part of its CSR initiative, the UST team handed 50 beds, 75 chairs, 6 dining desks, and water dispensers to the residents of the care home. Santhi Mandiram provides care and shelter to the needy who come from various parts of the city. The inmates include destitutes handed over by way of court orders, police stations, the Ward 9 of the General Hospital, Mental Hospital, and the abandoned and homeless who wander the city.
UST initiated the CSR activity following a recent request from the Santhi Mandiram Charitable Trust that runs the care home. The handing over of the beds, mattresses, water dispenser, and tables was done in the presence of a team from UST led by Sunil Balakrishnan, Chief Values Officer and Global Head for Development Center Operations.
“Santhi Mandiram is providing exceptional care to the homeless and mentally challenged people. UST is very happy to have an opportunity to support them with mattresses, beds, tables, chairs and water dispensers based on their request which was a critical need for the inmates. Happy to see our CSR team quickly coming together to procure and donate them very quickly. I am proud to see our team going an extra mile to help the needy,” said Sunil Balakrishnan, Chief Values Officer and Global Head for Development Center Operations, UST.
