Memorable 10th Annual Family Reunion at Camp Compass Retreat Center

Houston: A family reunion held at the Camp Compass Retreat Center in Dallas Denton on October 30, 31 and November 1 was marked by a variety of events that captured attention. The gathering was inaugurated with a lamp lighting ceremony by the senior brothers of the family—John Thomas, John Abraham, and John Joseph—along with Alice Jacob, Annie John, Ammukkutty, and Minnie. The meeting commenced with a prayer led by John Thomas. Several members extended congratulations regarding the purpose, goals, and significance of this reunion.

On the second day, artistic and sports activities began at 10 a.m. Various sports competitions, including ball games, chair games, cup games, and tug-of-war, were organized in ways that all age groups could enjoy. The evening featured a talent show alongside a family history documentary that drew considerable attention. The dances performed by the Chunakuttan families of Dallas and their mothers were spectacular. The skit titled "Houstonkarude Kuriakose" and another skit prepared about the family reunion, along with children’s dances, stood out distinctly.

Another highlight was the campfire arranged the same day, in which everyone participated enthusiastically. On Sunday morning at 9 a.m., Pastor Jonathan delivered the sermon during worship. At 11 a.m., the baton for the 2028 conference to be held in Houston was passed on. Sheby and Babu from Kootthinallil expressed thanks.

Leadership for the successful conduct of the family reunion was provided by members from Dallas — Manoj, Raji, Kochumon, Edison, Raju (Titus), Pratheesh, Robin, Sabu, Bina, Bindu, Asha, Susan, Lija, Aneesh, Prathibha, Annie — and from Houston — John Abraham, Monu, Shibu, Johnson, Joji, Kochumon Kiran, Tony, Alice, Shiny, Diana, Minnie, Sheeba, and Ammukkutty. Anni from Delhi and Joshua along with Suma from Calgary also contributed to the conference.

The conference was attended by 90 people and concluded with blessings around noon on Sunday.
