New Delhi: A strange incident was witnessed during the first match of the ODI series between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh teams were face to face in the first ODI match played at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on July 3. Then a 7-foot snake entered the field.
Actually, a snake was seen during the initial phase of Bangladesh’s innings, due to which the umpires stopped the game for a while. This is not the first case of a snake being seen during a match in Sri Lanka. This has often happened during Lanka Premier League matches as well.
The special thing is that the snake was taken out of the ground without any trouble and there is no news of anyone getting injured. Its video is going viral on social media. However, there was panic for a moment after seeing the snake.
Talking about the first ODI match played between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, Sri Lanka batted first. The host team had a very bad start and openers Pathum Nissanka and Nishan Madushka were out for zero and six runs respectively. Kusal Mendis added 45 runs with Charith Asalanka. Captain Asalanka played a brilliant innings and scored 106 runs.
Janith Liyanage added 29 runs as Sri Lanka scored 244 runs. Taskin Ahmed took four wickets for Bangladesh. Tanjim Hasan Sakib took three wickets while Tanvir Islam and Nazmul Hasan Shanto took one wicket each.
Bangladesh’s innings started with Parvez Hussain Emon and Tanjid Hasan scoring 13 and 62 runs respectively while chasing the target. Nazmul Hasan Shanto also added 23 runs. After this, Sri Lanka came back in the match by taking wickets quickly. Liton Das and Mehdi Hasan Miraz were out on zero. The host team restricted Bangladesh to a score of 167 and won the match by 77 runs.
