Meanwhile, the ruling National Conference (NC) in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday announced the names of its three candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections and claimed that talks were underway with the Congress for the fourth seat.
The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Central Election Committee issued a press release on Sunday stating that the party has announced the names of candidates for three separate biennial elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP has nominated Ghulam Mohammad Mir for one Rajya Sabha seat under Notification 01.
A BJP press release stated that Rakesh Mahajan has been nominated for one Rajya Sabha seat under Notification 2. Satpal Sharma has been nominated for two Rajya Sabha seats under Notification 3. This announcement was issued by National General Secretary and Headquarters Incharge Arun Singh.
