New Delhi: A recent post by Mumbai Indians has created a stir on social media. It clearly suggests something is brewing between the Mumbai team and the Kolkata Knight Riders. In fact, MI tweeted something on Thursday that has sparked heated debate.
“The sun will rise again tomorrow, that’s for sure, but with ‘knight’… it’s not just difficult, it’s impossible!” The special thing about this is the spelling of ‘knight’. Instead of starting with ‘n’, Mumbai has written ‘k’ in brackets. This is inspired by the spelling used for ‘knight’ by Kolkata Knight Riders.
This has led to speculation that KKR may have tried to lure Rohit into their fold. Fans say that Mumbai Indians used Rohit as an impact player last season. The Hitman was unhappy with this, and this may have been the reason KKR approached him.
However, Mumbai’s post clearly indicates that the team is not in favor of releasing or trading him, and he may remain with the same team for the next season. This year’s IPL auction is expected to take place in December, and the list of released and retained players is expected to be released in November.
Hitman has played 272 matches in IPL so far and has scored 7046 runs in 267 innings at an average of 29.73. His strike rate during this period has been 132.10. Hitman has scored two centuries and 47 half-centuries during this period. His best innings has been an innings of 109 runs. Hitman has hit 302 sixes in IPL. He was also in excellent form during the recent Australia tour and scored a century in the last ODI. He was also the Player of the Series.
