Sharjah, UAE: Mleiha National Park has been named the UAE’s only nomineefor the prestigious title of ‘Middle East’s Leading National Park 2026’ at the World Travel Awards, placing Sharjah’s flagship heritage and eco-tourism destination alongside the region’s leading protected landscapes.

Situated within the Faya Palaeolandscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the park is competing alongside just four other national parks from across the region.The nominationrecognizes Mleiha’s outstanding commitment to preserving the UAE’s archaeological heritage and biodiversity while delivering world-class eco-tourism, education, and adventure experiences.

Widely regarded as one of the travel industry’s most prestigious accolades, the World Travel Awards recognise excellence across global tourism, hospitality and destination management.

The nomination also reflects Mleiha National Park’s growing international profile as a destination that combines conservation, education and sustainable tourism within one of the Arabian Peninsula’s most significant archaeological landscapes.
