Islamabad: Security forces in neighboring Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province killed a total of 10 terrorists in two separate successful operations against militants. According to official information from the Pakistani Army’s media wing (ISPR), these operations were carried out in South Waziristan and Upper Dir districts. In Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan, terrorists attempted a surprise attack on security forces’ checkpoints, but alert soldiers retaliated quickly, killing eight terrorists on the spot. Meanwhile, in another operation in Upper Dir district, security forces killed two more terrorists. A large quantity of sophisticated weapons, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered during the operation. The army claims that all the terrorists killed were involved in several serious terrorist incidents and attacks in the area.
Following this major success, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has praised the bravery of the security forces and said that this military operation will continue in this manner until terrorism is completely eradicated from the country. It is noteworthy that since the ceasefire with the TTP broke down in November 2022, the banned terrorist organization ‘Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’ has been accused of continuously attacking security forces and military posts in this border area.
