Mumbai: Mumbai Police have intensified their investigation into the shooting incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff. Three suspects arrested in Kota, Rajasthan, have been brought to Mumbai for further questioning. The Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) of the Mumbai Police arrived in the city with the accused at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21. According to sources, the police changed vehicles more than four times during the journey for security reasons and as part of the investigation. The three accused are expected to be produced before a court later today.
The Crime Branch team reportedly began transporting the three suspects from Kota to Mumbai at around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. During the journey, the accused were transferred from one vehicle to another several times. Sources familiar with the investigation said officers questioned them extensively while traveling. Investigators focused on the alleged conspiracy behind the attack, the suspects’ backgrounds, their connections, the individuals who provided instructions, and those responsible for supplying weapons.
Police are also examining the escape route allegedly used by the suspects following the shooting. One of the key questions being investigated is why they chose to travel to Surat by taxi instead of taking a train. According to reports, the suspects initially boarded a local train to Borivali before hiring a cab to Surat. Investigators are trying to determine whether the route was planned in advance and whether anyone assisted them in escaping.
After reaching Mumbai, the Crime Branch team took the suspects directly to GT Hospital for mandatory medical examinations. The medical procedures were completed in approximately 20 minutes, after which all three were transferred to the Anti-Extortion Cell office under tight security.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police from the Crime Branch reportedly arrived at the AEC office around 4 a.m. to oversee the interrogation. The accused’s lawyer, Ajinkya Mirgal, also reached the office. The three suspects are scheduled to be produced before a court on Wednesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the investigation has expanded to Delhi, where the Delhi Police Special Cell arrested four additional suspects, including two women, for their alleged involvement in arranging and delivering weapons used in the attack.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Kunal, Sumit, Radha, and Babita. They were subsequently handed over to the Mumbai Police for further investigation.
According to investigators, Kunal and Sumit allegedly arranged the firearms used by the attackers. Radha and Babita are suspected of traveling to Dadar in Mumbai and handing over the weapons to the three assailants.
Police are now working to establish where the weapons originated, who coordinated their delivery, and whether the suspects received financial assistance to carry out the alleged attack. Investigators are also examining possible connections between the arrested individuals and those believed to have planned the shooting.
The reported shooting took place on Sunday evening when Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, son of veteran actor Jackie Shroff, was returning home after playing football in Mumbai’s Juhu area.
According to reports, two assailants opened fire at Tiger Shroff’s BMW as the vehicle passed through a crowd gathered near the entrance gate of his residential compound.
The attackers allegedly fired six to seven rounds at the vehicle. One of the gunmen reportedly approached the actor at close range and attempted to shoot him directly. However, the firearm allegedly malfunctioned when the attacker pulled the trigger, allowing Tiger Shroff to narrowly escape serious injury.
Reports also indicate that the actor’s driver and another person present near the scene sustained injuries during the shooting.
Investigators are examining whether the shooting was a premeditated attack, an attempt at intimidation, or the result of a personal dispute. Police are also investigating whether a larger criminal network was involved in planning and executing the incident.
The statements of the arrested suspects, their travel records, communication history, and evidence related to the alleged weapons supply are expected to play a crucial role in establishing the sequence of events.
Authorities are seeking to identify the individuals who allegedly coordinated the attack, arranged logistical support, and provided instructions to the assailants.
With seven suspects reportedly taken into custody across Rajasthan and Delhi, the investigation is continuing as police attempt to establish the motive behind the shooting and identify everyone allegedly involved in the conspiracy.
