India has deployed at least a dozen warships to provide security to ships, including Indian workers, plying the Red Sea from pirates. This is the biggest in the history of Indian Navy. According to the available information, India has already observed about 250 ships.

Although India is not currently a part of the US operation against the Houthis in the Red Sea, it has currently deployed two flagship warships in the Gulf of Aden and at least 10 warships and surveillance aircraft in the northern and western Arabian Sea, officials said.

At the same time, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that India’s relevance as a country willing to help in times of danger is increasing.

People who say we have other work to do when things are going hard for the countries around us cannot be considered responsible countries. India is not like that. He added that India’s name and reputation among the world nations is now increasing because of India’s ability and willingness to help in times of disaster.
