League of Women Voters to Hold Panel Discussion ‘Making Trouble’ With Former State Senator Loretta Weinberg, Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter and Legislative Aide Yusra Subhani

(Eastern Bergen County, New Jersey) — The League of Women Voters of Teaneck in partnership with the Teaneck Public Schools and the League of Women Voters of Bergen County will celebrate Women’s History Month with a panel discussion, “Making Good Trouble”, on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  The panel discussion will be held at Teaneck High School on the second floor in the Media Center located at 100 Elizabeth Avenue in Teaneck, New Jersey.

The event is free and open to the public.  Light refreshments will be served.  An accessible entrance with an elevator is available at the entrance in the rear of the building.

Join the League of Women Voters and hear women leaders discuss in a panel discussion about passing legislation focused on equity and social justice in our community.  These women leaders will speak: Loretta Weinberg, former New Jersey State Senator and Senate Majority Leader; Shavonda Sumter, New Jersey Assemblywoman and Chair of the New Jersey Legislative Black Caucus; and Yusra Subhani, Legislative Aide to Assemblywoman Shama Haider.

The League of Women Voters of Bergen County – Inter-League Organization (ILO) serves as an umbrella organization for five local Leagues in northeastern New Jersey.  The five local Leagues cover Fair Lawn, Glen Rock, Northern Valley, Ridgewood, and Teaneck.  The ILO addresses county issues and coordinates League programs and voter service for all of Bergen County.
