Congress lost Surat Lok Sabha seat before voting; Nomination of Nilesh Kumbhani canceled

Ahmedabad: Congress has lost the Surat Lok Sabha seat in South Gujarat even before the voting. The returning officer today canceled the nomination of Congress candidate Nilesh Kumbhani from Surat. There is talk that Congress will now knock on the doors of the High Court in this matter. On the other hand, after the cancellation of Nilesh Kumbhani’s nomination, allegations and counter-allegations have started in the Congress itself.

Congress leader Nilesh Kumbhani has been accused of taking money from BJP. Congress had to lose one seat due to Nilesh Kumbhani’s defeat by BJP. Congress leaders allege that how can their family members betray them and this matter is a matter of investigation. The witnesses were relatives of Nilesh Kumbhani and they could betray him in some way.

Congress leader Aslam Cyclewala said that yesterday’s incident was a well-planned conspiracy by BJP and Nilesh Kumbhani. The witnesses of Nilesh Kumbhani were not the Congress party or responsible persons. Among the witnesses were Nilesh Kumbhani’s brother-in-law, nephew and two business partners. Therefore, Nilesh Kumbhani himself is responsible for the entire matter. Because Congress had advised Nilesh Kumbhani to keep witnesses of the organization. But Nilesh Kumbhani ignored the party’s advice and made his personal persons witnesses.

Aslam Cycleman has requested the Congress High Command that action should be taken with immediate effect against whoever is guilty in this entire matter.  BJP had lodged an objection alleging fake signatures of witnesses in Nilesh Kumbhani’s form. Nilesh Kumbhani’s witnesses clearly denied having their signatures in his form and had also given an affidavit for the same. However, the returning officer had given time to the Congress candidate till 11 am today i.e. 21st April to appear with his witnesses. But till 11 am today Nilesh Kumbhani could not present even a single witness. Due to which the nomination of Nilesh Kumbhani has been cancelled.
