Relief Corneris a charitable organization that provides free online mental health services, started under the leadership of Dr. Saji Mathai with the vision and mission to empower the Malayalee population to promote, improve, and preserve their mental health. It is growing rapidly with new initiatives within four months of its virtual start. Every month, Relief Corner organizes webinars on diverse topics that are essential for common people and importantfor their mental health.

In the first webinar “Why Counseling Needed”, Dr. Solymol Kuruvila shared her professional experience during an online webinar about the importance of counseling for various problems and issues which gave new practical information for the listeners.

In the second webinar, Mr. Patrick M. Kallada emphasized the ‘Benefits of counseling’in a webinar. Counseling is not advice; it provides insights for reality orientation. Insight leads to thoughts; thoughtslead to emotions. Changing patterns of thinking helps to change emotions and thus actions. Contact a competent person when an uncontrollable situation arises.

Relief Corner welcomed 2025 by organizing an online seminar on the important topic, “Know the Narcissistic Personality” in the field of Mental health.Dr. Bobby Varghese, a mental health Nurse Practitioner, shared his experience and knowledge on the topic.A respectable number of people attendedthe online seminar and took part very actively, especially in the discussion forum. He shared his wisdom on this topic and gave insight to thelisteners.

As planned earlier, Relief Corner proudly launched its virtual “Spoken English” course for adults on January 25th. The goal of this weekly course is to encourage adult Mayalees to learn and speak English for better communication in their daily lives. It is open to all ages andfocuses on basic grammar and spoken English with group discussions. There will be an opportunity to speak on a topic to develop and improve their skills to speak in English. All the services are free, and we encourage adults who are interested in learning spoken English to join the program.

Relief Corner continues all other online services and meetings weekly which include Addiction support meetings, Addiction Family support meetings, Music classes, and Life coaching classes. Theycontinue to welcome new members and encourage all to use this free, confidential service to improve our mental health. The comedy club is also highly active and entertaining.
