A New Mexico murder suspect was allegedly attacked in court by the victim’s uncle and stepfather, the incident was captured on courtroom video. Video shows a murder suspect in a Mexico court being attacked by the victim’s family.
According to police, Alexander Ortiz, 21, was arrested by Albuquerque police in connection with the shooting of his ex-girlfriend, Aliana, in February last year. According to reports, Ortiz was charged with first-degree murder, to which he pleaded not guilty in March. He was attacked as he entered the courtroom for a hearing at the Bernalillo County Courthouse in Albuquerque.
The brawl ensues, with several men wrestling on the floor, including Carlos Lucero, Pete Ysasi, Ortiz, a corrections officer, Ortiz’s father and an unidentified sixth man. Lucero and Ysasi are seen punching a man wearing jeans and a dark long-sleeved shirt while the corrections officer tries to protect Ortiz. The fight ends when the officer deploys his Taser.
