India’s name resonated in Brazil: Nitin Gadkari said something big in a direct conversation with the NRIs

Brazil: India’s Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari interacted with the vibrant Indian diaspora community in Sao Paulo, Brazil and highlighted India’s growing stature on the global stage from strong economic growth, rapid infrastructure development and strong international partnerships. This information was given in a statement shared from the Nitin Gadkari Office. During the interaction, he emphasized the vast investment and innovation opportunities in India, especially in biofuels, green hydrogen, clean energy and flex-fuel mobility. He appreciated the deep cultural values ​​of the community and their important role in advancing India-Brazil relations through innovation, agri-business, energy and digital cooperation.

Describing India as a “land of opportunities”, he invited the global diaspora to explore, invest and partner in building a sustainable and prosperous future.

Gadkari said that India is changing rapidly today, especially in the field of roads, highways, logistics and digital infrastructure. He said that due to the plans and investments of the government, India is becoming a major economic center of the world today.

He said that this is the time when Indians across the world should come together to build a prosperous, self-reliant and green India. Gadkari invited them to partner, innovate and invest in sectors such as business, startups, technology and clean energy in India.

Gadkari said the Indian government is providing massive investment and policy support to promote biofuel, green hydrogen, clean energy and flex-fuel mobility. He appealed to the NRIs to invest in these sectors as they are not only environmentally beneficial but also economically stable for the future.

He talked about the possibilities of cooperation between India and Brazil in areas such as agriculture, energy, digital technology, and agri-business. Gadkari also said that the Indian diaspora can become the bridge of this cooperation and connect the two countries.
The role of the Indian diaspora was appreciated.

Gadkari praised the culture, tradition and professional contribution of the Indian community and said that the Indians settled abroad are India’s soft power. He also said that the Indian community, wherever it is, is not only adding pride to India but is also contributing to the local economies.

Nitin Gadkari is a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has been serving as the Minister of Road Transport and Highways in the Government of India since 26 May 2014. He has spearheaded several landmark highway projects and infrastructure development programmes during his tenure.

There are about 4,700 to 5,000 Indian immigrants settled in Brazil, most of whom live in cities like Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. These communities are mainly active in the fields of business, Ayurveda, technology and import-export. Apart from this, they are acting as a cultural bridge in Brazil through Indian culture and festivals.
