New Delhi: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar refuted Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s claim of vote theft during Jawaharlal Nehru’s time in Parliament, saying that Shah should have basic knowledge of the subject. He said that ballot papers were in place at that time, so any such incident of vote theft or rigging was impossible. DK said that Union Minister Shah should have basic knowledge of vote theft. Ballot papers existed then, but not now.
Earlier, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, continued his attack on Shah. Rahul Gandhi said that the Home Minister did not directly answer any of his questions. He claimed that Shah was very nervous yesterday. He used foul language, his hands were shaking…he is under immense mental pressure. He did not directly answer anything I asked him. He did not provide any evidence. I directly challenged him to come to the field and discuss all my press conferences in Parliament. I received no response.
Tensions escalated in the Lok Sabha when a heated debate broke out between Shah and Rahul Gandhi over the allegations of “vote theft.” Gandhi repeatedly challenged Shah to debate the issues raised at the press conference, including claims of irregularities in the voter list. Shah responded firmly, saying Parliament would not run according to his wishes and that he would answer all questions in their own order.
