UST donates Rs. 16-lakh worth portable ultrasound machine to Dept. of Internal Medicine at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital

Thiruvananthapuram: Leading AI and digital transformation solutions company UST donated an ultrasound scanning machine, worth more than Rs. 16 lakh, to the Department of Internal Medicine at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital (MCH).

The handing over of the ultrasound scanning machine was successfully done through the efforts of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) team at UST. The E CUBE i7 High-End Portable Colour Doppler is expected to directly benefit patients from underserved communities by enabling quicker diagnosis, reducing delays in treatment, and improving overall outcomes.

The Department of Internal Medicine at the MCH has been catering to a large number of patients from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. The portable ultrasound machine handed over by UST, is a significant diagnostic tool that helps in significantly enhancing patient care, especially for those who are critically ill, bedridden, or in emergency situations where bedside evaluation is crucial.

The E CUBE i7 premium high-end multipurpose premium color Doppler imaging system, donated by UST, is designed for abdominal, obstetrics, gynaecology, pelvic USG, cardiology, musculoskeletal, transcranial doppler study, vascular, urological studies, small parts and superficial, paediatric, neonatal, echocardiography, emergency medicine, trauma, and other applications.

“The CSR efforts at UST has made yet another valuable contribution towards ensuring quicker diagnosis and faster treatment processes at the Department of Internal Medicine at the Thiruvananthapuram MCH. I’m glad that we have been able to help by handing over the portable ultrasound machine at a time when it was needed,” said Sunil Balakrishnan, Chief Values Officer and Global Head for Development Center Operations, UST.

Apart from Sunil Balakrishnan, the handing over ceremony was attended by a UST team comprising Vineeth Mohan, CSR lead, India &APAC region; Nand Sundaram, CSR Ambassador; and Roshni Das K, Senior Lead-PR & Marketing-Kerala.
